Okay, sorry that this is here, but the text thing WILL NOT BLOODY WORK!!!!! I"M GOING TO THROW MY COMPUTER OUT THE WINDOW!!!!
In any case, this is the story that goes with the peice: Mutiny Nykamar hated fear. It made him feel weak and helpless - something he refused to be. Not that he was afraid. Nykamar was never afraid. The dark creature that resembled a wolf dragged himself through the gully, ignoring the rain pelting him. Lighting lit up the dark sky, quickly followed by booming thunder, but he barley heard it. All he could focus on was how he was going to kill that kid he refused to call his son. Nightstalker...what a pathetic name...sounds like that mother of his...and look how weak she was... More blood dripped from his pelt, irritating him. He was wounded, more so than he would ever admit, and he hated it. Just the fact that the pathetic little whelp had managed to draw his blood irked him. He got lucky, that's all. He told himself. Just a couple scratches. However, no matter what he told himself, the fact that his troops had disappeared confused him. Their opponents were only wolves, after all. Why would they run? Even Copperlash isn't that cowardly... A noise interrupted his thoughts - a small crack, like a rock hitting something hard. Nykamar's head whipped around, ready to fight, hoping it was that kid, following him. A small rock raced down the stone cliff, like a scout running to warn his superiors of an enemy. It bounced off a couple of outcroppings before harmlessly rolling to a stop at his feet. Irritated, he swept it away with one paw. Something changed. Nykamar wasn't sure what it was, or even how he knew it was amiss, but the hair on his hackles raised, and his tail bushed slightly. Lighting flashed again, but this time, a patch of ground did not light up. A shadow. Nykamar's eyes slowly raised, looking up to where the stone walls ended. A hulking but lithe figure stood above him, one rear paw resting on one of the outcroppings, the other on the one opposite it, along with one forepaw. The fourth leg hung in space, the long black claws unsheathed and seemingly shining with a life of their own. A pair of glowing golden eyes stared at him with the intensity of one making a final judgment. A mountain lion. Then Nykamar saw the markings, impossible for a normal mountain lion, and realized the gravity of the situation. Lonesabre. Even as he thought it, he knew it couldn't be true. Lonsabre had lost the ability to shift, along with him and all his troops. Had he regained them from the goddess? No. That was impossible. Then how... No. The truth dawned on him, filling him with fury. He never lost them. He's been lying this whole time.. Lonesabre moved. Instantly, Nykamar bared his teeth. "I don't know what you think you're doing," he snarled, "But take one more step and I will end this nonsense once and for all." It was an empty threat, and they both knew it. Nykamar had nothing but the commanding position he had held for so long. Lonesabre leaned forwards. Stopped. Hesitated. Nykamar felt hope. He can't lead without me. Then his face broke into a sinister grin, and Nykamar was afraid. "All hail Nykamar, Raider of the Night." Then he lunged. OH NOES!!!! OMFG, i am SO proud of this peice So, this is my entry for ~DawnFrost's Legacy of the Night contest, where we had to draw one of the LotN characters in another form(Some are shapeshifters- here, read her comic, everything in this story will make sense then. DO IT. [link]). I chose to portray Lonesabre as a mountain lion, and I wound up writing a little story to go with it. So, why has Lonesabre turned against his commander? Why can he still shift shape? Yess, but that is my entry. I hope you like it!! p.s. Would anyone like me to post this drawing of Lonesabre as a lineart? If so, with or without the hairdo? Fun Fact: The working title of this peice was 'ur screwed, man.' |
